WordPress Vs Blogger - Which One Is Better In 2021 & Why?

When it comes to blogging, we have several options for starting a blog:

  • WordPress
  • Blogspot
  • Tumblr
  • And many more

One of the most talked-about topics at ChromeGadgets is: Wordpress vs blogger
Which blogging platform is better?

WordPress vs Blogger

WordPress vs blogger - This discussion can be confusing at times. Most users like Blogspot because there are fewer technical issues and most users love WordPress because of its power and features. When someone asks me which platform they should start with, my usual answer is:

Start with WordPress.com for a month and once you get into the habit of blogging, start a new blog on the self-hosted WordPress platform.

Voluntarily, you are free to use Blogger.com as your launchpad blogging platform but don't stick to Blogger for too long.
I say this from experience because I started my blogging journey with blogger and then migrated my blogger blog to WordPress.org.

At that time, trying to learn WordPress gave me a lot of learning experience. But now, learning WordPress is much easier with the help of detailed guides, tutorials and videos.
Anyway, in this article, I will discuss WordPress vs blogger. A detailed comparison of Blogspot is shared and will explain the specific situation and which one is better.

WordPress Vs. Blogger: Which Platform you can choose?

The Blogger platform is very useful when you want to start a blog to share your thoughts. When you’re not blogging for money or you need a simple platform that doesn’t require any technical information, Blogspot is really good.

Blogspot has many limitations in terms of functionality and SEO benefits, Blogspot is the right choice if you only need a platform to start a blog at almost 0 rate.

At the same time, Blogspot is not an ideal choice if you are blogging for money, building authority or branding yourself. This is because you have limited control over visibility in search engines, and after a while, you may become very limited when it comes to adding new features.

I've read this many times:

Blogger is a Google product that means more SEO benefits.

This just isn’t true.

It doesn't matter if you use WordPress, Blogger, Drupal or any other platform, SEO determines how you configure your entire site for search engines.

Our control over our sites in the Blogger platform is limited. Despite the fact that they have added some new SEO features, Blogspot still lacks SEO optimization.

In short, the Blogger platform is better than WordPress when you create a blog for any reason other than writing. If you are fine with the limited features offered by the Blogger platform, this is a good choice. To make money or create long-term effects, the WordPress platform is great.

WordPress gives you complete control over your blog and you can technically do whatever you want.

You can host your own files, design to your liking, and use for any purpose (personal or professional).

You get complete control over SEO with the inclusion of SEO plugins to make your blog more SEO friendly. Plus, you can always introduce the latest SEO techniques like “Star Ratings” using plugins like Rich Snippets.

WordPress lets you do everything you want.

But at the same time, you need to regulate your own blog. You need to install WordPress on your own server and maintain the health of your blog.
It may seem technical but with the amazing support of the WordPress community you can learn everything without doing anything.

Watch videos to get started with WordPress, learn how to add plugins, dashboard habits, etc. Etc. will have to make some effort.

But we have to do that with Blogger too, right?

If you are thinking of creating a blog with the mindset of popularizing and making money from it, then you should go for a self-hosted WordPress blog.

If you are an occasional writer or a hobby blogger, Blogspot is the best choice for you.

Here is an easy chart of Haw Joyful that explains the difference in features

Conclusion

As a Blogger it is recommended to first use blogger and then move to wordpress as wordpress need money. But once you become a experience player in this field you can move to wordpress whenever you want.

Generate More Traffic With Bing News PubHub

Generate More Traffic With Bing News PubHub This week Bing released a new tool for content publishers to find their work through more readers. Bing News PubHub allows publishers to submit their websites for distribution to Bing users. The company claims that publishers of all sizes will be able to use this tool to reach a Bing audience with new and interesting content.  As an argument for considering Bing News PubHub to be a news doorway for sharing your content, Bing makes the following claims: More than 20% of the U.S. desktop search retail uses Bing and this can be proven with the recent comScore number, which helps them get the "most comprehensive and relevant news" (hard to support this claim with actual statistics).
