Google Adsense vs AdWords

Google Adsense vs AdWords: What's the Difference?

AdWords vs. Adsense: What's the difference between these two Google offers? Google AdWords is a system that allows businesses to bid for advertising space in Google search results and other Google-affiliated properties.  Adsense is a system that allows publishers and website owners to sell advertising space in a business. In other words, you have to pay to use AdWords, but Adsense can make you money.

Still, confused?  Let's dig more details

Advertisers use  Google AdWords to create and place ads on Google. Google has a 75% share of the search market and 71% of its revenue comes from advertising.  As you can imagine, AdWords is highly popular and, when used properly, is highly beneficial.  How is AdSense different?  Let's explore.

Google Adsense vs AdWords: The main difference

Conceptually, the main difference between AdWords and Adsense is this: Google AdWords is for advertisers, and Google Adsense is for publishers. When I say "publisher" I mean that anyone who has a website is willing to sell advertising space on it and is mainly interested in placing regular content (as opposed to selling products and services). For example, the New York Times would be considered a publisher.

If you are familiar with the Display Network, in which AdWords users pay to run display ads on sites on the web, you might consider Google Adsense as a platform that allows website or blog owners to accept their display ads on their websites in exchange for money. They don't just display ads. Adsense is based on both your display and text ads on your site based on your content and who is watching it. You're not giving up control either. AdSense lets you choose how ads on your site will look and end.

How does Google Adsense work?

Because the ads that appear on your site are served by Google ads, advertisers rush to the auction of Google ads for the ad space they want. This means that - you guessed it - you're selling the billboard to the biggest bidder.

Which in principle allows you to make as much money as possible. Google takes care of all the billing for you, so it only sells a few ads on your site, watches the flow of money, and believes that you are getting the most out of what you are giving up. Ad-less, utopian site for your readers. But AdWords allows advertisers to customize their advertising campaigns to maximize the return on their investment, but AdSense does not offer publishers any such luxury.

In terms of how much money you can make using Adsense, you can see how good the ads are and how good the Google Advertisers are.  You are paid when someone clicks or sees your ad, depending on the type of ad you allow on your site.  Ad design, ad relevance - it is the advertiser's job to advertise as relevant and relevant as possible when your user clicks.  And if you do, you're losing site visitors. For that reason, you should only choose Google Adsense over AdWords if you do not sell any products or services.

What types of ads does Google Adsense show?

However, publishers have some control over the types of ads they display on their sites. They also have some control over what those ads look like.Publishers have three types of ads: text ads, display ads, and rich media ads.

Google lets you choose from a list of predefined ad styles or create your own. Choosing to create your own ad style gives you the opportunity to choose complementary text, background and border details for your website. AdSense users, however, need to be careful about creating ad styles that blend seamlessly into the fabric of their website. Doing so can result in fewer clicks and less money.
